Patricia Wagner, Senior Commercial Officer, Commercial Services Department of the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala is hosting a conference that will be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, at the Westin Camino Real on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The conference is to showcase work performed in a partnership between Hi-Lite Global, and Pavimentos de Guatemala (Padegua), for the La Aurora International Airport Rehabilitation Project.
The conference will begin in the morning with technical presentations of the various processes and materials used to perform the rehabilitation of the airport, followed by a luncheon. A tour of the airfield at La Aurora International Airport and also a drive through Plazuela España, a historic circle in Zone 9 where the Hi-Lite/Padegua partnership also performed rejuvenating and pavement marking work, will conclude the day.
The La Aurora International Rehabilitation Project consisted of before and after friction testing, 16,000 square meters of rubber removal, 10,573 square meters of pavement markings removal, and over 203,000 square meters asphalt rejuvenation of the runway, parallel and connecting taxiways, complete with updated new reflective markings. The Plazuela España project also included rejuvenation of the pavement with RejuvaSeal, and new reflective pavement markings.
The materials and equipment used for the work was of the highest quality available for this type of work. It included Aero-Green, an environmentally friendly chemical, and one of Hi-Lite’s own custom built water blaster units for rubber removal, and RejuvaSeal, (www.rejuvaseal.com) an asphalt rejuvenator which can extend the life of a pavement for years beyond its normal life expectancy.
